It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Anne on February 27, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Anne died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 1st, 1939 in Waterford, Ireland. Predeceased by her parents Margaret and James O’Sullivan, Anne is survived by her husband Dr. Patrick (Perry) Lydon, her children Louise (Kevin) McLeod and Robert and her two beloved grandchildren Declan and Callum. Anne was the second youngest of seven children and will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives in Canada, Ireland and England.

Anne grew up in Ireland and married in 1971 in Dublin. The family immigrated to Brandon, Manitoba from Scotland in 1975 and eventually settled in Victoria in 1983. In early life, Anne worked as a dental assistant and after spending many wonderful years caring for her children at home; she worked as a medical secretary in her husband’s medical practice.

Anne was a truly devoted mother and her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Anne’s other interests included tennis, traveling, gardening and she loved her many dogs. She was also a generous supporter of many local charities and organizations. She will be remembered for her great kindness, compassion and love of all her family and friends.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Luco for all his care of Anne over the past few years. We would also like to say a special thank you to the wonderful VIHA Homecare nurses that provided exceptional care and support to all of us during these difficult weeks. Our sincere thanks to Father Paul Murphy for all his kindness and help during our time of need.
