BIVAINIS – Antonina (nee Bujalska), born in Jurgielany, Lithuania on February 20, 1913, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2003 in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her husband, Pranas; sisters, Marysia, Jasia and Irena and brother Stach. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, Christine (Ernie) Colwell of Victoria, Jasia (Herbert) Story of the UK, Danka (Andrzej) Pianowski of Poland; nephews, Olgierd (Dzitka) Marszewski of the UK and Stach (Nella) Bujalski of Poland. Many friends, associates and members of the Polish community will sadly miss her. She was one of the founding members of the Polish White Eagle Hall. “Tosia” was forced out of her home in Lithuania by the Bolsheviks and sent to Siberia in 1941. When later released she spent time in Refugee Camps in East Africa, India, Iran and England. She and her mother Janina immigrated to Canada in 1950 to be with her sister Irena and niece Christine. Sincerest thanks to Drs. Ewa and Andrew Kiellerman for their ongoing compassionate care and support. Special thanks also to all at James Bay Lodge and Beckley Farm Lodge for their kindness during her last few months. Visitation will be held at MCCALL BROS, Johnson and Vancouver Streets on Tuesday, September 30th 2003 from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Mass of Christiam Burial will be held at St. Andrews Cathedral, 740 View Street, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2003 at 12:10 PM. Interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
