Arnie passed away on August 20, 2021 at Victoria General Hospital. He was born on April 8, 1946 in New Glasgow, N.S. to Edward and Margaret (Napper) Cavanagh. Arnie resided in St. Catharines, Ontario and moved to Victoria, B.C. in the 1950s when his Dad passed.
Arnie is survived by loving wife Pat, of 50 years; daughters Tanya (Joe), Tara (Tom), and son Arnie jr. (Felicia) and grandchildren: Joshua and Isai, Meagan and Lauren, Jonathan and Kelsen. Reg (brother-in-law), nephew Aaron, niece Amanda.
Arnie is predeceased by his Mum and Dad, sister Sonja and dear friend Hank Longoz. Arnie was Father, Grand Father, Uncle, and friend to many from bowling, curling, and swimming Arnie worked for many years at BC Packers, Ogden Point and owned “Crazy Arnies’ Video Store”.
Arnie will be missed by all but we are comforted that he is no longer in pain. Many thanks to the nurses, doctors, care-aids, technicians – they are all earthly angels among us – love to them all.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke or Kidney Foundation, or charity of choice.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe Street, Victoria, BC with Fr. Konrad Zaborowski to officiate. Reception to follow in the church hall.

Sincere condolences to the loving Family of Arnie. Now seeing that It has been some years since he has passed and even longer since last talking & chuckling with him but you must know that others from his Mt.V. high school remember him as a formidable athlete; his speed and power helped lead our rugby team to city victory! We are gathering for our 60th grad reunion next week … you can be proud. He will always be Remembered.
