HORTON, Barbara Louise (nee Dawes) Passed peacefully into her Lord’s presence on Thursday, Sept 24th, 2009 after a 12 year battle with breast cancer. Predeceased by her parents Lewis (1984) and Pauline (August 14, 2009), she is lovingly remembered by her husband Phil; daughters Katie and Becky; brothers Harold (Martha Gail), Donald, David (Nancy), Robert; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and countless dear friends. Her passing was just short of her own 50th birthday and on what would have been her mother’s 91st birthday. Barb was `the spark of life’ to many, many people; an initiator of ideas, events, parties and trips. A consummate cook, she hosted countless people in the family homes in Victoria, Chicago, Iowa, Tunbridge Wells (UK), and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A compassionate nurse, her passion to serve her Lord in meaningful, practical ways was expressed in a wide variety of ways to people of all ages in many parts of the world. She is sorely missed. A celebration of Barb’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3rd at 2:00pm at Lambrick Park Church, 1780 Feltham Road with a reception following.
