Benjamin(Ben) passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Ben was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and cherished friend. Born on February 25, 1943, in Domenico, Italy, Benjamin was the beloved son of Francesco and Felicetta Perri.

Ben’s life was filled with love and joy, and he was blessed with a beautiful family. He shared a lifetime of love and laughter with his beloved wife, Rosanna and together they built a strong and lasting bond. Ben was a dedicated and caring father to Carmella, son in law Greg, Michele, Francesca and son in law Chris. He will be missed by his grandsons Nicholas, Abel and Everett who he adored greatly.

Ben had a successful career at the ministry of finance in Victoria, BC and it is there that he met many of his life long friends.

An avid sports fan, Ben’s passion for games brought him countless hours of excitement and camaraderie. His love for cars was undeniable, and he found great pleasure in learning about, discussing, and admiring various automobiles. But above all, Ben valued the simple joys of life, especially the company of his friends. He cherished those moments spent over a cup of coffee, sharing stories and creating lasting memories.

The loss of Ben leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit and the love he shared with all will forever be remembered. We mourn the passing of a wonderful man, but we also celebrate the legacy of love and laughter that he leaves behind.

A celebration of life will be held in the Sequoia Center at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Dr. on August 24th at 2pm to honor Ben’s life and the indelible impact he made on those around him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Victoria Heart Institute Foundation through www.CanadaHelps.org

Rosa, I was so sorry about Ben’s passing.
My brother told me about his passing in Aug/2023
I had so many laughs with him when we worked together for the Registrar of Companies.

When he married you I know he had made a very good choice.
He was in my wedding party with you by his side.

Rosa, we just learned of Ben’s death and your loss. I am so very sorry. We did not know Ben really well – but he was ALWAYS friendly and welcoming to us each time we saw him. He was just the kind of person that everyone liked. He used to thrill our young children by giving them a little money to buy something special to eat. He made everyone laugh and was always interested in what was happening in our life as well as sharing about his own. Our most sincere condolences to you and all your family.

Dear Rosa and family I just learned of Bens death today Sept 4th. I was shocked and sorry to hear of Bens passing. Ben was the most wonderful person and friend we have known each other since we were 14. He was like a brother to me. I am sorry we lost touch in the last few years and I wish I had known that he wasn’t well. I would have called him and gone to see him. I am sorry I missed his funeral I would have been there had I known. If there is anything you need or if you want t o talk please let me know.

My cuz Ben was a huge role model for me growing up as a kid. I spent a great deal of time with Ben going to many local sporting events, be it, hockey, lacrosse, baseball and basketball (Harlem Globe Trotters) … as well as bringing me to the Jaycee fair and arcades on numerous occasions.

Yes, Ben had a passion for cars and we used to go cruising in his old AMC Javelin muscle car lighting them up (burning rubber) every once in a while.

Looking back, I remember Ben running into people here and there, some that he knew and some that he didn’t know, and always had time to say hi and quickly catch up. Ben had a kind disposition and I noticed that people were drawn to Ben and always enjoyed conversing with him as he was always approachable and down to earth. Ben was always sincere, understanding, compassionate and empathetic and was never judgmental … just an all around stand up guy.

My sincere condolences go out to Rosanna and the girls; Carmella, Michele and Francesca at this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and heart … God bless, g.

Oh Ben, by the way … the Leafs and Rams will always suck.
