Several months have passed since Bernadette left us. We lost her to the love of her life, Fraser. We lost her to her son, Ruairi. We lost her to a new adventure, Canada. All of which we can bear because that is what life is about, letting go of your sister in order for her to live her life to the fullest, which she did so admirably, but this loss is harder to bear. Bernadette, Minxy, Foxy whoever she was to us all, was loved by us all. I miss you Bernadette. x

Fraser and Ruairi but also the rest of Bernadette’s family,
It was a privilege to have had Bernadette – Minxy – in my life, a lovely, lovely, wonderfully funny and caring lady. She’s still with me and is still with you, so keep talking to her – she doesn’t want to be cut off, she’s looking on, wherever she is. Make her laugh, make her smile – she did that for all of us.
Sending you both a big hug,
    love Gerry

Jenny and I will never forget Bernadette’s kindness; we will be forever grateful for her willingness to step forward and help us with babysitting duties when Jenny injured her wrists and couldn’t lift Connor. And, that is how we will remember her, absolute kindness. She also never complained about my singing, but enough said about that.

Dear Fraser and Ruairi Bernadette was a very special person who made a deep impression on all the nurses that cared for her. Her concern for others when she needed the help always stood out for me. She was always so positive and tried so hard to adjust to all the care she required. I will always remember our Tullamore connection and will think of her and her father when I there this summer. May her soul rest in peace. She will always be remembered for how she loved.

What a woman, what a sister. Bernadette lit up rooms and lives she entered into; her sense of fun and mischievousness eroding any resistance! Never self conscious in her desire to amuse, she was honest and forthright, speaking her mind with conviction. My sister was no saint, she was an angel; a crazy, vibrant, spirited woman. As we missed you when you emigrated Bernadette, we will continue to love and remember you with affection and pride. Fraser, Ruairi she was so proud of you both, continue your journey, she will always be with us all

I am more than sad that Bernadette has passed away. I remember her as crazy but kind, a good listener and lively, a loyal friend and very, very funny.
I remember the time you and others were over for a BBQ at my house. We were sitting at a table near my apple tree when apples decided to randomly drop off. Bernadette went into my house and came out wearing a plastic helmet from my boys’ dressing up box.
    Thinking of you.

  • Karen

Fraser and Ruairi, we are so, so sad that Bernadette is no longer here. She filled the room with sunshine and happiness every time she walked in. I can honestly say that every memory I have of her, from my early twenties to now, is one of warmth, love, laughter and fun. Bernadette could be such a clown and so zany yet she had such an empathy, understanding and wise head on her shoulders too. It seems impossible that she is no longer here but her legacy is enormous and her love for you will sustain you now and in the future. She was the brightest light.
We all send you our love and we are with you across the miles.
