It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother and nana, at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on the morning of January 20th, 2018. Betty-May was born in Vancouver on July 3rd, 1930. Predeceased by her mother, Muriel; her brother, Harry; and her father, Harry. Betty-May will be lovingly missed by her husband of 64 years Fred (Whitey); her daughter, Cherlynn; son-in-law, Rob; grandchildren, Erik and Hayley as well as many loving friends.

Betty-May was a very talented artist, with several of her works decorating the walls in their home as well as those of family and friends. She was owner/operator of her own business “Prime Personnel” until she retired in her early 60’s.

A Celebration of Life for Betty-May will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Whitey, Cherlynn, Rob, Erik, and Hailey, we are so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty-May’s passing. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful memories of times spent together. Great family gatherings on Wende Road where we always seemed to end the evening singing “Please Release Me”. Wonderful crab dinners in Birch Bay. Sharing the special bond between Dad, Mom, Betty-May and Whitey. And watching Betty-May’s face light up as she spoke of Erik and Hailey. Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. Much love, Mark and Leslie.

We have lost yet another dear soul from the old neighbourhood where so many fond memories were made. These include the setting of Betty Mae’s lovely yellow kitchen curtains on fire while making popcorn and having to explain to the resident fireman! Betty Mae was a lovely and gracious lady and will certainly never be forgotten. To Whitey, Cherlynn and family our very deepest sympathy. May all the good memories grant you comfort.
