Passed peacefully at home on January 23, 2026 after a lengthy fight with cancer. Daughter of Olive & Harry, Carol was born in 1940 in Port Alberni.  Predeceased by her husband Philip Connolly and her two sisters Shirley & Margaret. She is survived by her three devoted sons Bruce, Glenn & Scott and their families, along with a cherished circle of seven grandchildren & their spouses.  More recently the family added two great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Carol lived and worked most of her life on the lower Island and Victoria.  Along with raising her three children, she also worked in health care as administrative support for a number of doctors before finishing her career as a unit clerk at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on the Cardiac floor.  This final role led her to become committed to assisting and supporting families going through heart disease and surgery.  Following her RJH days, she worked passionately with the board and staff of the First Open Heart Society & Victoria Heart House. She was proud of her involvement in starting the Heart Pillow Program many decades ago. A program which is still going strong today and has provided approximately 15,000 pillows to patients.  While she was a private individual, she never wavered in helping those in need.  She was the rock of our family and will be greatly missed.

We will celebrate the life of Carol at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club on Sunday Feb 22 from
2:30-4.
