Stephen Heal Hi Roy and Peggy
So sorry to hear about Christian. Both Monica and I are thinking of you during this tough time. He was one of the brightest and most talented men I have ever known. Witty, clever, and kind, he was always great to talk with. I am sorry to have lost contact with him over the last few years. I used to hang out with him and Tracy down in Chinatown with Kenny Banner during the mid 90’s until he moved to Prague. I think of him every time I look at the wonderful piece we bought at one of his shows. I will remember him fondly.
Please let me know when the celebration is and I will definitely be there.

Dave & Myrna Rouse Dear Roy, we are sorry to hear of Christian’s passing. We remember how much you looked forward to his visits.
We didn’t have the opportunity to know Christian in his adult years but will always remember him as the little angel in that very special painting you did of him as a young boy.
Thinking of you in these hard times.

Lori James Derry Dear Roy:
I’m so sorry for your loss.
The one time I met your son, he spoke very proudly of you and in fact jumped up from his seat to show Michael and I your artwork. To have a son proud of his father is a true accomplishment.
You are a kind and gentle soul; and I hope your good memories of Christian will bring you peace… Lori

I am so sorry to hear of Christian’s passing. I knew him only a short while in Cambridge before and after his hospitalization in 2097. And I had the pleasure of having you for dinner one night then. What a wonderful creative sad person he was. I have a piece of his art and will cherish it. Love Annie Newman

John Hetzel Mr. Mercer,
Heartfelt condolences. Christian was an inspiration to me as an aspiring artist in the ’90s out in Prague. He was a guiding light for the expatriate community in the golden city and shining star of its flourishing artist colony. You can be proud that his graceful and incandescent soul touched the lives of many during his time on earth.

Marcia Kurbis Hi Roy,
i used to manage Cook St Liquor shop for several years and was close to Christian for awhile.
my heart breaks upon hearing this news and though this did appear to be Christian’s chosen path i always hoped for a miracle.
he was a sweet, brilliant, tragic soul and i will forever hold him in my heart.
i trust he is flying free and finally at peace and you are able to find a bit of solace in this thought.
deepest condolences.

Teresa Mulhall (Banner) Christian was a beautiful, sensitive, creative, loving (and very stylish I might add!) friend who always put a smile on our face and in our hearts. His creative energy was infectious. I have never known another like him. He will be sorely missed, by myself and by Ken for the rest of our days.

Lowell Bradshaw Dear Mr. Mercer, I was a friend of Christian in Boston, I am deeply saddend to have learned of your son’s passing. He was an amazing guy and there are many people in Boston who cared for him. My condolences to you. LB
I was told today of Christian’s passing. He was my very first best friend and loved him deeply as only a young child can do. He was funny and I remember that we laughed a lot! Best friends from 3-6, then we parted but I always still felt close! My most favorite memory is of the time we ate spaghetti together and slurped up the spaghetti noodles because Roy said we could! I loved being at Christian’s house and with Christian. Much love to all of you!
Love, Jasmine
