Passed away August 4, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Claude was born May 6, 1953 in Sudbury, Ontario to Rene Fortin and Barbara Ann Fortin (nee Lamontagne) and spent his childhood years in Chelmsford, Ontario. He moved south to Hamilton and there met his wife, Patricia Fortin (nee Noonan) in 1977. Together they moved to the Island in 1980 and to Victoria in 1981. Claude’s interests were music, electronics and the Habs! Claude passed his musical appreciation and passion on to his son, Stephan and daughter, Michelle. He will be sadly missed by Stephan and Michelle; his wife, Pat; his mother, Barbara Fortin; sisters, Therese Perron (husband Yoland) and Pauline LeFebvre, their families and by close friends and extended family, including his in-laws, the Noonan family of Hamilton and Vancouver Island and the Simpsons of Mackenzie, BC. Family gatherings will be held but there will be no open service. The family would like to express our sincere Thank You to Victoria Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Victoria Hospice or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

We will miss Claude dearly, Pat. Our visits to Victoria were always made special by our visits with you, Claude and the kids. And who could play The Beatles better than Claude? No one we know. We’re thankful for the time spent together and will always treasure our very special memories from the past 30+ years.

    Sincerely,

    Alex Carlson

We are shocked and very much saddened by this news. We will always remember the pride that emanated from Claude when he would catch us up on his family over the years. We will never forget the last minute (very) name change phone call for Stephan way back in the Sony Store days. Do take care.
