Corinne Adele Hutchison, known to most as Cory or Big Cor, having reached a suitable age of 91 decided that February 10, 2023 was her day to go. Born in Victoria to Stan and Peggy Moore, she grew up in Oak Bay.  At the young age of 15, she started dating another Victorian, Robert Hutchison. Some 77 years later and 69 years of marriage, Robert remained by her side until, peacefully, Cory’s heart, quietly and calmly, stopped beating. To those who knew Cory, they knew she was quiet, determined, competitive, witty and gracious.

Cory led a happy Victorian life, growing up boating with her parents in the Gulf Islands, playing field hockey and dancing ballet. She remained active her whole life taking up tennis at the Racquet Club and, later, to keep up with Robert, she took up golf.  She became an active member of Victoria Golf Course winning a number of cups and became Ladies Club Captain and was honoured with a life membership. Whether ballet, tennis, golf or cards, lots of cards, Cory always surrounded herself with friends, some new and many life-long

Her greatest joy however was her family. She and Robert had 3 children, Rich (Linda), Jane (Gary) and Jim (Stefania).  All lived close by with their spouses, something which gave her great joy. She spent her summer months at Shawnigan Lake surrounded by a continuous flow of family.  In her words, she was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Sara, Daniel, Adam, Preston, and Luca and also one great-granddaughter, Selena. Sadly, she was predeceased by her grandson, Lorenzo and great-grandson Tristan

The family will hold a memorial in her honour on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Sequoia Room, McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Our Place Society.

Condolences may be offered to the family below.
