Born on December 3, 1964. Passed away at Royal Jubilee Hospital on March 31, 2012. Daniel will be missed by his mother Anne-Lise Rummelhoff, his father Robert Rummelhoff, his sisters Christine and Annette, and his brothers David and Clayton.

Daniel will be missed by all who had the privilege to really know him. He was able to engage with just about anyone. His interests were so diverse, you could never be bored being with him. Daniel could make you laugh at the drop of a hat, with just a word or a look. If you were down, Daniel was the guy who could put a smile on your face and just “MAKE YOUR DAY!”

Daniel had fond memories of growing up in Kitimat, B.C. where he learned to fish and hunt and hike the rugged mountains. Upon moving to Victoria, Daniel worked with Oak Bay Marina on fishing charters as well as commercial fishing boats. Later, Daniel developed a keen interest in literature and public speaking and drawing. Daniel had a keen sense of speaking with a metaphoric vocabulary, he had the ability to understand what you were trying to say and condense your thoughts with just a few words.

When it came to hockey, Daniel knew the ins and outs and was especially in tune at the Canucks’ Playoff season; Kessler being one of his favourites.

Daniel was so very proud to be a “NORWEGIAN VIKING”, as well as practicing his Norwegian with anyone he could. Daniel enjoyed singing and playing guitar with family and listening to Country music, as well as reminiscing with the old tunes. Especially KIZZ as a teeneager. Although Daniel had a {bit}of a wild side, he had a reverence for God. Going to Sunday School as a youngster and occasional services as an adult, he often talked of how his smallest prayers were answered. Daniel especially enjoyed sitting in the sunshine at the inner harbor, watching buskers, tourists and sailboats. Daniel’s last day was at the inner harbor on a beautiful sunny day in March 2012.

Thank you, Daniel Mark, for sharing your sunshine with us. We love you and miss you.

Funeral service will be held at McCall Bros., Vancouver & Johnson Streets, on Easter Monday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m.
