Dave was my mom’s cousin and I have wonderful memories of times my family spent with Dave and Gillian when I was growing up. His upbeat and positive personality was an inspiration for myself and my brother and sister while we were growing up. Dave always had time to joke and play with us when we were children. I remember Dave bringing us A&W rootbeer which was a favorite treat for us! All of my family will miss Dave.

Our sympathy and much love go to Gill and family at this sad time.

I have been retired for 15 years but remember the many years that I worked with Dave. He was always easy going and a pleasure to work with. I also spent many hours in the fitness center at Seymour and Dave was always there pushing weights and working out. I will never forget him. My condolences to his family.

Dave or ‘creeper’ as he was affecitonately known was a true character. He always had a smile and a comment on the day. I remember how he ran the problem and change control meetings and how you couldn’t slip one by him.
I’ll miss ol’ Dave even though I hadn’t seen him for a few years.

I never worked closely with Dave but met him in the Fitness Center at 4000 Seymour. He did some serious body building while I fiddled around on some light weights and a stationary cycle. We had some interesting discussions. He did not beat around the bush with his words … my type of communication.

I also ran into Dave at coffee and some meetings.

Losing a loved one is never easy and my heart goes out to his family at this time of grief.

Dave was a big guy, big heart, working out in the gym at 4000 Seymour. That will be one of my memories of him. Other events were his role in Change Management in Government Service where he verified Technology Changes that were bleeding edge in the day. But, the big hard man was so soft in his ways. I miss not seeing you up island.

I’m very sorry for your loss. 73 is way too young.
Dave was one of the first people I met when I moved to Victoria
from Ottawa to work for BC Systems, and he became a good friend.
He will be missed by many people.

I had been in Government service for 1 year when I met Dave at the Department of Finance, Mechanical Tabulation Branch. Worked with him for many years before he retired. Never a dull moment with him. Lots of laughs working with IBM cards. Dave had a way of training the ”new” guys at work. The term ‘big guy’ was made for him. Always wanted Dave to be on ‘your team’ or be on his team. Haven’t seen him for a few years but will never forget him. I’m in my 50th year of Government service and when reminiscening about the old days Dave’s name always comes up. My condolences to his family at this time.

I will miss Dave. He was always smiling and friendly. I respected his dedication to his fitness and his commitment to his work in the Government.
