Born February 27, 1959, in Victoria, BC, passed away peacefully October 17, 2026.
Dave graduated with an MBA from UBC in 1987 and enjoyed a long career with BMO in commercial banking where he made many valued friendships both with colleagues and clients.
He retired in 2017, took up painting, and it became a passion. He joined in with a private painting group in Victoria meeting weekly online and was an active member of the local art group, Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society.
Dave will be missed by his loving wife Sally Bushby, children Kathleen (Mariana), Heather, Ben, James and Katie, brother Brian (Patsy), sisters-in-law Pamela, and Ann, brothers-in-law Michael (Dennis) and John, mother-in-law Nell and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilf and Irene, sister Pam, nephew Delaney, sisters-in-law Cherith and Rosalie, brothers-in-law Robert and Bryan.
Dave and Sally loved to travel, get together with friends and host family gatherings.
He had a quick sense of humor, generous spirit, and was much loved by family and friends who will all miss him.
A heartfelt thank you to BC Cancer both in Victoria and Vancouver, and the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital palliative care for their loving care and kindness.
Tributes, if desired, may be made to BC Cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2027.
