Debra passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Victoria, BC. She was born in Edmonton, AB on April 13, 1970.
She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Trevor Hayes. Lovingly remembered by her Mom, Ruth; her sisters Cheryl (Dennis), Crystal; brothers Curt (Stacie) and Dan (Lindie); her Aunt Doris (Calgary) and cousins Tom (Marty), Sandy (Bill), Darren (Sara); her mother-in-law, Elizabeth; brother-in-law, Richard and all her extended family and friends.
Deb met and married Trevor in Australia where they lived for 6 years and while there, she became a dual Australian and Canadian citizen. They moved back to Calgary in 2000 and then finally, moved to Victoria, BC 8 years ago.
Deb was passionate about helping out pet charities by fostering cats and providing a safe home for mother-to-be cats to have their litters. Many kittens found their way into this world with Deb’s love, care, and affection, and many tears were shed when they all moved on to their permanent homes. A beautiful soul was taken way too soon.
Our special thanks go to the RCMP Westshore Detachment, View Royal Fire Rescue and Metchosin Search and Rescue for all their help and support.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Debra’s name to the Broken Promises Rescue https://brokenpromisesrescue.wordpress.com/donate/ or email – info@brokenpromisesrescue.com Phone: (250) 818-6643
A private Celebration of Life and reception will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
