Dorothy (Dot) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2012 in Victoria, BC. Dot was predeceased by her Husband (Stan), Daughter (Linda), Brother (Bill) and Sister (Kit). She leaves behind Daughter (Carol), Son (Ron & Grandchildren, Jason, Jenny and Kari), and Granddaughter (Sandra, Daughter of Linda ), and Brother (Bob). Also left behind are nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.
Born in Port Alberni, BC on November 20, 1919, Dot also lived in Cumberland and North Vancouver, before her family settled in Victoria in 1936. Dot married her high school sweetheart, Stan, on May 10, 1941.
Dot loved and was loved by her family and friends. She took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens, and preparing home cooked meals with “fresh from the garden” produce. She was a devout sports fan and loved her Canucks. Dot maintained many long term friendships with relatives, neighbours and friends. Dot will be very much missed by all she left behind, for to know Dot, was to love her.
There will be an interment at Hatley Memorial Park Cemetery on June 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. This will be an outside event, and family and friends are welcomed. The location is 2050 Sooke Road, across the road from Royal Roads University grounds.
