After Pearson College, he attended the University of Victoria (UVic) (1987-1991), where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honors), specializing in Microbiology. In his final undergraduate year, he conducted research and was principal author of a scientific paper in a prestigious microbiology journal.
Jason attended Medical School (1991-1996) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, BC. While in Medical School, he took a sabbatical and taught Microbiology at UVic. During this year of teaching, his enthusiasm and knowledge was an inspiration to all his students.
After graduating from UBC, Jason returned to Prince George for his Medical Internship Program. He did additional Emergency-Room Training in Powell River and Victoria. Jason was licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia to practice Medicine in 1999. He practiced Family and Emergency-Room Medicine, on a locum basis, in Prince George, Port Alberni and Victoria, BC. Jason was highly respected by his colleagues and patients. His patients greatly appreciated the way he personally related to them.
Jason was married to Kathleen Cliff of Victoria in 1997 and had two children, Varina and Riona. Jason was also father to two children with Lenore Marco of Powell River, Ilonia and Jarodin, and has one stepdaughter, Olivia. Jason’s children were very special to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.
Jason is survived by his parents, Marvin and Barbara Berg and sister, Dorinda Vosilla (nee Berg) and other relatives.

Donnamarie An Ever Remembering Man, Father, Son and Friend to Many – our Jason M Berg.
Barb, I was trying to locate Jason for some years; sadly to find him tonight for the first time in a few decades. Disbelief of Sadness. My heart goes out to you. My Mother passed within my arms last year. A child of your own; beyond all. Throughout many years – always remember your support to your son and kindness of your heart.
I would find some peace to reconnect with you and embrace the way you always have been. So good and true….
