KENNEDY, Edward Thomas Passed away January 5, 2006, at the age of 96. Ed was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the small-town atmosphere of Teulon, Manitoba, learning to play hockey with the “men;” sparring with his brothers, Morris, Gordon and Norman; and learning the finer aspects of family living from his sister, Mabel. All his siblings predeceased him. Ed married Dorothy Neve 65 years ago, at which time they moved to Edmonton in search of employment. They spent the next 50 years there, before joining their son Brian and his wife Jo on the Island. Ed and Dorothy have five grandchildren: Brian’s sons Todd (Pamela), Blair (April) and Garth (Leslie); and Jo’s daughters Ava (Paul) and Gwen; and six great grandchildren. Ed was a proud tradesman, applying his skill as a plasterer for 35 years, and the last 15 as a building inspector with the City of Edmonton. He liked to tell the story that he “worked for the City for 15 years and they paid me a pension for over 30!” Ed will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. No service by request
