Ilene passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 in Victoria, BC. She was born on November 4, 1954 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Ilene was predeceased by her father Arthur Luining in 1994. She is survived by her mother Lucille (Sue) Luining and her loving husband Robert. She also leaves her sister Ruth (Doug), her brother Art (Marlene), her brother-in-law John (Betty) and her much loved dog Sophie. Ilene also leaves her nephews, Chad, Mark (Sherry), Kevin (Darcie) and her niece Danielle. Great nephews and a great niece. Many other friends and relative across Canada, England and New Zealand.
Rob and Ilene married in 1991 and lived and worked in Victoria together for 34 years. Ilene retired after 32 years in public service on 2009.
A Celebration of Ilene’s life was held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
