It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Eileen was born in Cork, Ireland on July 2, 1947 and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on her birthday July 2, 2011. Throughout her three year battle with cancer, her faith remained steadfast. Her courage and strength were an inspiration to all. Her happiest moments were those spent with family, friends and time in her garden.
Those left behind with fantastic memories include her devoted husband Frank and her children Erin (Darryl) Giles, Calvin (Kimberly) and Sean (Sherri). Beloved Grannie to Ethan, Olivia, Harrison, Finley and Isaac. Also her extended family Mellonie (Marty) Lybbert and Francine (Lorne) Hodder and their children. Her best friends and siblings Mary (Kevin) Sheahan, Rena (Michael) Healy and Tim (Mary) Foley along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. Bindra, the wonderful health care professionals and all those at Victoria Hospice who supported us on Eileen’s journey. We will love you forever and always.
Funeral Mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, 4040 Nelthorpe Street, Victoria B.C. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., Father Frank Franz, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations to Victoria Hospice are appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

Louise Crossgrove Eileen’s Irish lilt is now silent. But, in our hearts it can still be heard. I remember how Eileen spoke with such conviction, clarity and caring. As a member of the Queenswood Monday Meditation circle, she brought light and laughter with her. She was particularly kind to me as I struggled with my writings and guiding the meditation group. Eileen always encouraged me to continue because she said I had something good to give to the world. She brought a sparkling spirit to every meditation she attended. The women of the Monday Meditation have held her within the energy of the circle each time we met ever since her illness prevented her from being there. We hold her in our hearts with love and gratitude for the gifts of herself that she shared with us.
I send prayers to you, her family, for courage and strength to carry you through this time of loss and sorrow. Eileen was a very special and dynamic woman; one whom I am very thankful to have met.
