At the age of 95, Bess passed away peacefully at Saanich Peninsula Hospital – Extended Care on September 18, 2016 with family by her side. Bess was predeceased by her husband Tom and her daughter Sherri and is survived by her daughter Ruth and her family.
Bess was born in Manchester, Connecticut and at a very young age moved with her family to their farm in Northern Ireland. In 1950, Bess and her husband Tom immigrated to Canada, settling in Lacombe, Alberta. In the mid 60s, Bess and her family moved to Sidney, BC where she lived until her passing. Bess was very proud of her Irish heritage. She loved her home and always had a little dog by her side. She will be long remembered by family and friends and dearly missed by her best friend Hazel.

At Bess’s request there will be no formal service. A private gathering of family and close friends will take place at a later date.
