Passed away in Victoria, B.C. on July 23, 2010. Born April 28, 1910 at Broomhill Park Farm, Paris, Ontario. Daughter of John Wishart and Susan Sewell. Educated in Paris with her sister the late Mary Hamilton Wishart Lint (late husband Lewis), and brothers the late Rev. George Alexander Wishart (late wives Marjorie, Gertrude), the late Dr. Franklyn Wishart (late wives Dorothy, Helen), and the late Robert B. Wishart (late wife Dena). Graduate of Toronto Normal School, Ontario College of Education and University of Toronto. Taught Home Economics in Toronto, Brampton and Twp. of Chinguacousy. Married Harold Campbell Mason, May 9, 1942 at Hart House Chapel, University of Toronto. Lived in Toronto and at a farm outside Brampton, Ontario. His family included son the late Thomas Mason, and the late Mary Mason Barber and the late Winnifred Mason. Harold died Sept. 1, 1976. Their sons are Edgar Wishart Mason (wife Janet Barbara Mason, daughters Bronwyn Claire Mason and Ngaire Frances Mason), Auckland, New Zealand and Alan Campbell Mason, Toronto. Ellen married Knud Erik Larsen, born in Hjorring, Denmark, Oct. 20, 1977 at Hart House Chapel, U. of T. After living on the farm near Brampton, Ellen and Erik moved to Victoria, B.C. Knud Erik Larsen died May 13, 2002. Ellen’s special interests were teaching Home Economics, antiques, floriculture and flower arranging, and world travel. Special thanks to Maivis Olsen, to Mrs. Larsen’s in-home caregivers, to Dr. Ted Rosenberg, and to all her healthcare providers. Cremation. Private interment at Cadboro Bay United Church, Memorial Gardens, Victoria, B.C. Rest in Peace.

Fond memories of Ellen and the Mason family when they were growing up at the former Thornton family farm, north of Brampton, Ontario. Ellen was well loved by friends and neighbours in the church and community of Mayfield where she shared her talents while teaching Home Economics.
