Born on January 23, 1919 in Gahwil, Switzerland. Passed away peacefully at Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria, BC on July 31, 2008 to be with his beloved wife, Olga. Lovingly remembered by his children, Theresa, Francis and Agnes; granddaughters, Olivia and Hannah and sisters, Maria, Agnes, Ida and Anna. Emil’s culinary career began with apprenticing in some of the finest hotels in Switzerland before moving to Canada in 1948. He worked at several restaurants before he settled into a long career as the Chef Supervisor of St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Victoria. He loved to cook and catered many functions and special occasions for the Knights of Columbus. He was a kind and gentle man and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Glenwarren Lodge for the kind and compassionate care given to Dad.

Prayers will be offered at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Blanshard & View, on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 12:00 Noon with a private family interment to follow.
