Reunited with the love of her life George who predeceased her in 2001.

TOGETHER FOR ALL ETERNITY

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by daughter Beth (Gerard), son Steven (Cindy) and brother-in-law Sandy who were by her side until the end.

Also survived by sons: Shawn (Carole), John (Gloria), daughter Sandra (Lawrence), brother-in-law Don (Jan), sister-in-law Ann (Jerry) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family.

She loved Hockey, Football and Baseball and could often be heard yelling at the players, refs, umpires and coaches whether she was watching the game live or on TV.  She enjoyed spending time with friends at Tillicum Mall and talking with everyone.  She loved to knit and always seemed to have a pair of knitting needles in her hands knitting something for family, friends or a church project.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the care she received by the Doctors, nurses and support staff on 7D North at Victoria General Hospital.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Hatley Memorial Gardens, 2050 Sooke Road.  All who knew her are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the BC Cancer Agency at 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria BC in her name.

I have many memories of Aunt Erma, as she made many trips down east and would stay 3 months at a time. She loved to watch hockey and cheer for her team. If she was sitting she was always knitting up a storm. She also loved to talk. When we were out shopping, she would strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, which could add an hour onto our outing. Anytime we spoke on the phone long distance, her last words were always, “give Mike a big hard hug for me”, as Mike always laughed and said for a small woman she sure could give hard hugs. She will be missed by all. Our condolences go out to all the family, and our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you on Saturday.

To The Family of Erma McArthur:

Aunt Erma like her sisters Marjorie and Isabel was a hard worker. Upon her visits to New Brunswick her and George would make their rounds to family but the place she called home was with mom and dad (Isabel and Don) at Pointe du Chene. For many years we had shared their summer visits and enjoyed them sharing a meal at our home In the later years after dad and George passed for mother’s I would make an appointment for Erma, Mom and I to go to a spa and have a manicure and pedicure. We would have a great time, the three of us talking to each other from behind the curtains. (good memories)

Erma made many friends down east also, I have made it a point to let them know, they have many good memories of her visits. Always willing to give a helping hand, great sense of humor and a zest for life. It was always a happy time to see the three muskateers get together (Erma, Marjorie and Isabel) Erma will never be forgotten for the time she spent with mom on her last two visits down east, such a great help.

Our prayers and sympathies to all of the family and a special thank you to Beth and Steven for being their for her.

To the family of Erma McArthur:

Aunt Erma, in my memories, certainly had a zest for life; because of distance, living in New Brunswick, I did not get to see her often, but when I did I was amazed how my mom (Marjorie) and Aunt Isabel, sisters, had such a connection. I also remember the time she brought Shawn home with her to Aunt Isabel & Uncle Don’s in Pointe du Chene, NB. I watched out for him a lot & played with him & Aunt Erma kept thanking me over & over! She always had a little “jig” when she was excited & happy.

She was the last living sibling of my mom & last living child of George & Blanche Lewis. Sending my sincerest sympathies to all of the family. May your memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
