Etta passed away peacefully on May 30, 2006 at the Gatehouse in Cobble Hill. She was born Sept. 25, 1916, in Revelstoke, B.C. In her youth, the family moved to Victoria. She pursued a career in nursing, training at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. While working at the Comox Hospital she met her husband, Arthur, from Union Bay. They settled in Victoria to raise their family, and enjoyed a life blessed with many good friends. The last two years of Etta’s life were spent peacefully in the compassionate care of the staff at the Gatehouse in Cobble Hill. Etta will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her, especially son David (Kari), granddaughters Meleana and Chloe of Summerland, and daughter Linda Howie, grandchildren Nicola and Dustin of Shawnigan Lake. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. in McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson and Vancouver Streets.
