Frances Marion Sisson, (nee Drake), (formerly Roberts) passed away peacefully at age 94, at James Bay Care Centre on December 19th, 2013.  Fran, as she was known to her many friends, was born September 2nd, 1919 in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario.  Fran lead a full and active life. While only in her twenties, she acquired her pilot’s license during the 1930’s and proudly flew the iconic “de Havilland Tiger Moth” biplane.  She also loved gardening, golf and tennis, as well as music and dancing and is remembered not only for her wide, friendly smile, but for also baking the “best” apple pie ever! Predeceased by husbands, Dr. Llewellyn Roberts and loving dancing partner, Everett Sisson.  She is survived by sons, Rick Roberts (Sandy) of N. Vancouver, Jim Roberts of Vernon and daughter Marg Lam (Cliff) of Victoria and their families. Fran felt fortunate in life and to this end shared her good fortune by donating  “Roberts Bay Marine Park”  located on the shores of the Shuswap Lake, for the enduring enjoyment and benefit of succeeding generations. The family wish to thank Dr. Jollymore and the staff of the James Bay Care Centre for their kindness, compassion and caring.
