Our father, Glen Kitson, passed away on July 30, 2016 at the age of 92. Born and raised in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, he married his childhood sweetheart on his return from overseas duty in WW2. He moved to BC in his 20’s, where he enjoyed a successful career in business and eventual early retirement. He loved living near the water, both lake and ocean. He was always active, sharing his passions for boating, waterskiing, snow skiing, surfing, fishing, flying and lake life. He built a house at Shawnigan lake and both his family and friends spent many good times swimming, water skiing and enjoying sunny summer days. For many years, he commuted to Shawnigan during the summer in his seaplane, which he also used on many trips to Barkley Sound, where he ran a small business during his retirement. Dad was a dedicated family man to his wife and four children who he loved and supported in so many ways. We will all miss him – his wife Donna, his two remaining daughters, six grandchildren, three, almost 4, great-grandchildren and their spouses and significant others. We hope he’s flying high today.
There will be an interment of ashes at Royal Oak Burial Park at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 5, followed by a reception at McCall Gardens also at Royal Oak, 4465 Falaise Dr. at 2:30 pm.
