July 17, 1961 – June 2, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce Glenn’s passing on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Glenn was predeceased by his mother Helena in 1967. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Natasha, precious son Gavril, father Ronald and step-mother Verna, in-laws Victor and Irina, brothers and sisters Maureen, Mark, Royce (Kelly), Tracy (Kevin), and nephews and nieces Nicole, Matthew, Ryan, Sydney, Erin, and Reid. Glenn will also be forever remembered by his numerous extended family and friends.

Glenn grew up in Edmonton and mastered his skills in air conditioning, refrigeration, and controls, earning the respect of his many colleagues in Edmonton, overseas, and Victoria. Glenn established himself as a formidable jazz musician who played many instruments; however, the saxophone remained his favorite. World travel was a passion of Glenn’s, and this was reflected in his global mindset and extensive reading library.

Glenn’s creative and industrious character was evident in many ways – from the chess set he carved from soapstone (acquired while working in our ‘Great White North’), to his determination in building 170 stairs at his home in Cordova Bay to better enjoy the beach. Last but not least, Glenn’s witty sense of humour will be very much missed.

A private memorial will be held for immediate family. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

I feel deep remorse at only finding out of Glenn’s passing 10 years after his passing. My sincere condolences. I met Glenn in Edmonton when Reg Bruce and myself hired. Glenn as a refrigeration mechanic in the late 80s at Pace Industrial Refrigeration. I knew of his love of jazz/ saxophone however I knew more of his talent and dedication as a refrigeration mechanic and loyal employee. I realize this is so late but I was so shocked to find this out today. I was thinking of him and wondering how he was doing. My deepest and sincere condolences as I always thought the world of Glenn

Dear Ms Medd and the family,

Please accept my and my wife’s deepest condolences. It is exactly one month since our dear colleague left us. Glenn was a kind, caring, thoughtful and funny guy whom I enjoyed a lot working with him and I’m sure he was even a better husband and father to his wife and son. He will be missed in MPC Consulting a lot both for his technical skills and lovely attitudes.

    With the Best Wishes

Afshin – a colleague in MPC

Natasha and family, I wish you all the best. Glenn will be missed for his stories, his sense of humor. When he spoke of Gavril and Natasha, he spoke with deep love and wonder at the precious gifts he was given. His spirit will always be with you.
