I was saddened to hear about the loss of your Dad. I have many humourous memories of the good times had at Weir’s beach. Gord was such a great Santa (in July), Engineer (measuring out the sites) and loved his family. I am sure he has left you with many good memories.

    Janet, Ken and families,

So sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. We have so many memories from our time together at Northwestern Creamery and Silverwood Dairy. Gordie had a great work ethic and he was a mentor to many of us. His sense of humor was infectious and everyone enjoyed working with him.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

    THE BROKEN CHAIN

We little knew that day that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

So very sorry Ken, Jan and family. Our thoughts are with you.

    Dear Janet & Ken:

Just wanted to let you know how sad I was when I saw Uncle Gordie”s obituary in the paper yesterday. He was my “favorite uncle” and only 15 when I was born so he was always more like a friend than my uncle. He gave the “Toast to the Bride” at my first wedding and still had the cigar my dad gave him when I was born. Although I only saw him a few times over the last # of years, It always made me happy when I saw him. Fred and I both send our love at this time and our thoughts are with you Love Marlane

Ken, Janet and families. We are very saddened to here about Uncle Gord’s passing and are thinking about all of you at this difficult time. Be comforted by the fact that everyone who ever met your dad thought he was a really great person. My dad really loved his little brother and was always very proud of his many accomplishments. Best wishes- Russ,Chriss and family.

Gord, you hired me at Silverwoods in 1974, starting me on a 33 year career there and at Island Farms. I’ll never forget ( and have told the story often!) you calling on the saturday asking me to start at the dairy Monday. I said I should give some notice to my present employer. You said “you’re right, how about Tuesday!?” Our years working together were great and you were a well respected boss and friend by all of us. Rest in piece my friend.
