It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Graeme Cunningham, brother, husband, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He will be dearly remembered by his wife Monique MacMinn, sister Brenda (Peter) Garnham, nephews Jason Garnham (Robin), David Garnham (Kelsy), great nephews Lochlan and Broderick as well as many friends. Graeme was born in Victoria to parents, James and Margaret Cunningham, who had recently arrived from Scotland.
Graeme loved racquet sports. Squash was his greatest passion where he accomplished several championships in his younger years. Graeme attended St. Michaels University School where he graduated with honors. Graeme worked at Queen’s Printer in the Provincial Government and was the President of the Canadian Diabetic Association for several years.
Graeme’s literary talents expressed themselves by his love of writing poetry and articles where they were printed in various publications throughout his life. Graeme was a loyal and loving man who could light up a room with his disarming smile and infectious laughter. His sense of humour followed him until his last days. (He loved Drama class in school), Graeme will be fondly missed by those whose lives he touched.

Douglas MacMinn To my dear sister Monique…”Greemie” (or as the terrifying SMU teachers would say: “Cooning’um!!!”) will be much missed. A fixture with the squash gang (hey Dave!), he’ll always be remembered as a firebrand competitor who took no prisoners. Saddened, actually, to see his once-acerbic wit kinda soften, a little, over the years, yet – it truly spoke, ultimately, to the idea that the warmth of his heart could not be bound. He could be incredibly effusive in lavishing those close to him with praise and adoration that was genuine to a fault. Wearing the forthright intentions of his heart on his sleeve is something I’ll miss most about him; he was an open book who will be remembered for his generosity of spirit. Take care, Graeme. RIP.

Dave Cox I will miss you good friend. We were friends a long time, since our early day of junior squash. We played a lot, laughed a lot, and had some epic adventures together. You will always be remembered as very fun, friendly and kind.
