February 23, 1931 – May 25, 2012
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gun-Britt Hornfeldt at Kiwanis Pavilion in Victoria on May 25, 2012, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Gun-Britt was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband, Hans in 2009 and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Britt-Inger (Phil), Marie-Anne (Rick) and Christine (Dave), her 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Gun-Britt was born in Burea, Sweden and was one of 16 children. She married Hans in 1956 and together they immigrated to Victoria, BC in 1964. Gun-Britt and Hans ran a second-hand store in Esquimalt and she later cared for the elderly at Aberdeen and Beacon Hill Villa for many years. Gun-Britt was a talented musician with a voice like an angel however her greatest gift was her beautiful spirit and her loving nature. Gun-Britt spent the last five years of her life under the dedicated care of the staff at Kiwanis Pavilion, to which we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
A service will be held at GLAD TIDINGS PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, 1800 Quadra St on Friday June 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kiwanis Pavilion would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Gene & Jette Denluck To the Family of Gun-Britt and Hans, our Deepest Condolences. They were always Happy and Cheerful when attending any Functions and Celebrations at Norway Hall, whether with the Norwegian or Swedish Activities. Gun-Britt had the most enjoyable little laugh that was followed with a shrug and a giggle. She wore her Nationality Garments with Pride and loved to dance at every chance.
I recall her dressed as Mrs. Clause when Hans was Santa at the Christmas parties. She will sing & dance again in our and in your memories. Take care.
Dear Gun-Britt is with her beloved Hans at long last, where she wants to be.
We are so glad she was part of our lives , even though it was just for a short while.
Our Prayers are with you all at this sad time, but rejoice in the wonderful memories you have of her.
Our sincere condolences.
Joyce, Doug, and family Pleven.
