September 20, 1919 – July 8, 2010

Doug Moran, predeceased by his wife Eileen (nee Sargent), is survived by his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Susan; his brother Jack; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Ernie Aldus; his nephews and nieces and their families and many friends both near and far. He was born in Winnipeg and served with the RCAF and RAF in WWII in the UK, North Africa, Malta and at Patricia Bay/Victoria where he met and wed Eileen. For many years he was with Immigration Canada, first in Victoria and Nanaimo but mainly abroad in the foreign service (serving in London, Hong Kong, the Azores, Trinidad and Tobago, Manchester and Seattle) with a short posting at Ottawa headquarters. Doug most enjoyed his years in Victoria. He was a long time Mason, Shriner and Legionnaire.

No service by request. Rather, Doug’s ashes will be scattered at sea to be united with those of Eileen. Those wishing to do so, may donate in his memory to a charity of their choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

I had the pleasure of serving with Doug Moran in Port of Spain, Trinidad. It was an extremely busy office and Doug’s calm efficiency was an example for us all.

My condolences to his family at this difficult time.

    Sincerely,

    Tove Bording
