Passed away peacefully at Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria, B.C. on October 31, 2010. Isabelle was predeceased by her loving husband, Russell in December 2009 and by her brother, Harry Rushton. She is survived by her children, Michael (Janice), Nancy (John), Stephen (Bernice), Jeffrey (Mary), Joel (Maria), and Trish (Paul) all of whom cherished her and by her sister, Dorothy (Len); twelve grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Isabelle was born on August 11, 1923 in Hamilton, Ontario and married her high school sweetheart, Russ there on New Year’s Eve in 1942. Together they raised their family of six moving from Hamilton to Toronto, Ottawa, and finally to Victoria in 1990 where they happily passed their retirement years. Isabelle leaves behind a close-knit family that has benefited from her strength, wisdom, patience, generosity and most of all unconditional love. She was indeed the consummate Mom. While Alzheimers and cancer took their toll on Isabelle in the last year of her life, she continued to enjoy time spent with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Glenwarren for their incredible care over the last ten months and particularly in the last week of her life.

A private gathering of family and friends will be held in Ontario at a later date. Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Condolences may be offered at www.mccallbros.com.

Harry & (my sister) Lillianj Rushton took me with them to visit Isabelle in Victoria many years ago. She prepared the most delicious lunch for us and made me feel right at home. I thought she was such a sweet, caring person and it was easy to see Harry’s fondness for his lovely sister. He spoke of her often in his letters to me. My deepest sympathy to the family.
