It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Roberta (Bert) after a year long illness.   Bert attended Craigflower, Shoreline, and Esquimalt High.  She worked for the B.C. Medical Plan for over 20 years.  She loved her pony “Trinket” and horse “King”, as well as numerous dogs and cats over the years. Bert loved the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and a good party.

Bert is predeceased by Father Robert Hodnett, 5 months before she was born in 1955, mother Gladys Hodnett, (née Henson) in 1996, much loved aunts and uncles Jack & Kay Henson and Dot & Don Smith, cousins Bill and Bob Henson, as well as her long-time partner Paul Kellett.

She left to mourn, her sister Kathy (Pat) Hourigan, nephew Brett (Donna) Hourigan, and niece Katie Hourigan, great nieces Rosie & Allie Hourigan, cousins, Lorraine Hett and Julie Henson, as well as special friends Sharlene, Jamie, Laurel and Sue.

Just found out about her passing….. Bert was a dear friend back in the 80’s and 90’s when we both worked at Ministry of Health, we had ALOT of adventures together. She was one of the sweetest, most genuine people I knew. I will always remember Bert and Paul with their beautiful Collie’s and laughing until the sun came up. Rest in peace my friend and thanks for all the memories.

I’m so sad to read of Roberta’s passing. We fell out of touch many years ago but I always thought of Bert with love and fondness. She was a kind and generous person, and my children will always remember “Bert and King Paul”. Rest In Peace.
