Jaime passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2017. He spent his last days surrounded by his wife and five loving children. Jaime was born in the Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada when he was 31. Jaime is survived by his devoted wife Edna of 61 years, his five children, Lurdes, Teresa, Cidalia, Jaime Jr. and Jennifer and their spouses, as well as 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He’d proudly read out all their names to you.
Jaime was a hard worker and an avid gardener. Stepping into his backyard would always take your breath away, you would be greeted by a loud cheerful “heyyy” from somewhere behind a tomato plant. Jaime also had a passion for making wine, everyone always had to say “It was the best!” which was music to his ears. He played in the church band for many years. He truly loved his life, family and his many, many friends. He was “The King” of our family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 4635 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, BC V8Z 5M2 with interment to follow at Royal Oak Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice, Children’s Hospital or BC Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
