Passed away suddenly on July 16, 2006. Born October 8, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, James grew up in Calgary. He loved the sea, and made Victoria his home in 2002. James was involved with the naval cadets and Reserves throughout his life. He was also a talented chef and worked in Calgary, Victoria and the Caribbean. Passionate and ambitious, James was involved in politics in both Alberta and British Columbia. He worked as a legislative assistant for the BC Provincial Caucus, and recently left to further his education. James was an enthusiastic 32 degree Mason, and was involved in Aurora Lodge No. 165, the Scottish Rite, and the Victoria Lodge of Education and Research. James and Jennifer were also members of the Order of the Eastern Star. A devoted and loving husband, son and father, James leaves behind the immediate family of: his wife Jennifer, son Austin (Edmonton, AB), mother and stepfather Gail and Richard (Medicine Hat, AB), Father and stepmother Stewart and Joan (Taylor, BC) sister Angela, and nephew and niece, Jordan and Sydney (Medicine Hat). He also will be missed by a large extended family and circle of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 21, 2006 at Christ Church Cathedral, Quadra at Courtney Streets, at 11 am.
