It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Joy, peacefully at home on May 14, 2011, born May 27, 1922 in Athabasca Alberta.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Norman, brother Jimmy, sisters Gail, Dolores, June, Cecilia, son-in-law, Vittorio, survived by sister Patricia and brother David.
Mom will be deeply missed by her daughters, Judith, Vicki (Herb), Debra (Murray) grandchildren Michele, Kristina (Brook), Delaney, Kirby, and great grand-daughter Sofia.
After Dad’s retirement from the Airforce, Mom enjoyed her career in Cosmetics with Eatons. She was a long-time member of the Victoria Curling Club, Gorge Vale Golf Course and UCW for the Esquimalt United Church.
Mom will always be remembered for being such an excellent Hostess, and life of the party around her piano.
The family wish to thank the staff at Beacon Community Home Support and Merry Maids, who brightened her days with their cheerful visits, and her extended family at Out Shine Hair Design especially Tanya and Robin.

My sincerest condolences on your loss of Aunt Joy, my first memory is sitting at the piano singing. Miss that. My love to you all.
We will always remember “Momsie” and her never ending support for our curling games and her love of people. She was appropriately named Joy as that is what she created among anyone who knew her. She was a special woman with a very special family.

We will miss Joy very much – she became grandma gee-gee to our older daughter Terena. She never failed to greet us with a warm smile from her vantage point across the street (her living room window). I (Patrick) will miss her keen sense of humour, and her ability to put me in my place.

As neighbors we have great memories of Joy attending our Christmas Socials, Neighborhood street and backyard pot lucks, and especially of waving to us from her favorite chair at her living room window. Nelson always noticed when Joy had her hair done and noted your comments to her stylists. God be with you all.
