It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Joy, peacefully at home on May 14, 2011, born May 27, 1922 in Athabasca Alberta.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Norman, brother Jimmy, sisters Gail, Dolores, June, Cecilia, son-in-law, Vittorio, survived by sister Patricia and brother David.

Mom will be deeply missed by her daughters, Judith, Vicki (Herb), Debra (Murray) grandchildren Michele, Kristina (Brook), Delaney, Kirby, and great grand-daughter Sofia.

After Dad’s retirement from the Airforce, Mom enjoyed her career in Cosmetics with Eatons. She was a long-time member of the Victoria Curling Club, Gorge Vale Golf Course and UCW for the Esquimalt United Church.

Mom will always be remembered for being such an excellent Hostess, and life of the party around her piano.

The family wish to thank the staff at Beacon Community Home Support and Merry Maids, who brightened her days with their cheerful visits, and her extended family at Out Shine Hair Design especially Tanya and Robin.

ln lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC, V6H 2K2 (1-800-665-5864). A family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

  • Kathy Dall'Antonia

My sincerest condolences on your loss of Aunt Joy, my first memory is sitting at the piano singing. Miss that. My love to you all.

  • Bob & Marg Thompson

We will always remember “Momsie” and her never ending support for our curling games and her love of people. She was appropriately named Joy as that is what she created among anyone who knew her. She was a special woman with a very special family.
    Love to all of you.

My deepest sympathies to the family. God bless.

  • Patrick, Lora, Terena and Maren

We will miss Joy very much – she became grandma gee-gee to our older daughter Terena. She never failed to greet us with a warm smile from her vantage point across the street (her living room window). I (Patrick) will miss her keen sense of humour, and her ability to put me in my place.

Please accept our deepest sympathies – we can only imagine how much of a loss this must be to the family.

  • Nelson and Jean Bath

Our deepest sympathies to the family. As neighbors we have great memories of Joy attending our Christmas Socials, Neighborhood street and backyard pot lucks, and especially of waving to us from her favorite chair at her living room window. Nelson always noticed when Joy had her hair done and noted your comments to her stylists. God be with you all.

  • Cammie

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I will miss looking up at Joy’s front window to see her smiling and waving. I will also miss our conversations about the neighbourhood and will treasure the old photos (c. 1955) of my house she gave me in exchange for my “back yard” applesauce. Blessed Be.

  • Brenda and Kevin

Our deepest sympathies to all the family. Our memories of “Mumsie” are treasured ones. She was so welcoming, engaging, and fun loving, prior to her illness. The kinship of music, social interaction, kindness, lives on in her children.
    Love, Brnda and Kevin

  • Lucy Cheston

Thinking of you all with deepest sympathy. I will miss our phone calls.

    Vicki, Deb, Judy and families,
It is with sadness to hear of your Mom’s passing. In the few years that we had known her, we found her to be quite the little “firecracker”. A pleasure to have been able to have a “few”
glasses with her over special times..Hearing her play the piano and the wise cracks that came out of such a little person, alot of laughs went along with those times.
A treasure that will be kept for many, for years to come!
    All our best, to everyone,
Take care of each other, and remember the good times, together.
    XOX
    Marge and Don
