Died peacefully on May 11, 2012 in Victoria, B.C. She was born on June 22, 1926 in Sokal, Poland (in what is now Ukraine). Predeceased by her husband, Adam Pichnej, Janina is survived by her brother, Antoni Zolczynski; her sister-in-law, Roma Zolczynska and her nephews, Janusz Zolczynski and Waldemar Zolczynski, all residing in Poland. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends from the Polish community in Victoria.
A Celebration of Janina’s Life with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at 4040 Nelthorpe Street, Victoria, B.C. with Father Pawel Szczur officiating. Condolences for the family may be offered below.
