MacKENZIE, Jean Margaret November 19, 1916 April 26, 2011 Jean passed away peacefully at Central Care Home at the age of 94 years. Born in Lamont Alberta, Jean resided in Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary, where she raised her family, was active in church and school activities and supported her husband’s (Alasdair) consulting businesses, until their retirement in 1998. For many years, Jean and Alasdair enjoyed travelling in the Rocky Mountains in their motorhome. In 2003 Jean and Alasdair celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in Calgary. After Alasdair’s passing, Jean moved to Victoria, where she spent six wonderful years at Somerset House, enjoying nature’s paradise, gardens and the ocean. Jean will be remembered for her determination and strength of character when faced with life’s challenges. Predeceased by her parents, James Maxwell Roxburgh and Nellie Williametta (Brown) Roxburgh, her siblings William Roxburgh and James Roxburgh, and her husband, Alasdair Robertson MacKenzie. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Margaret Westbrook (Larry) and by her son Roderick (Jane). A special thank you to the nursing staff at Central Care Home for their compassionate care during the last few months. Cremation and no funeral service, at Jean’s request.
