October 7, 1956 August 15, 2013

Born to Daniel and Elizabeth Danielson in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan. Jeff often spoke fondly of his youth growing up in the wilds of the beautiful Canadian North, Manitoba (Lynn Lake) and Saskatchewan (Lac La Ronge). He heeded the compelling call of the West Coast however and made his home in Sooke.

Multi talented, he did artistic display work at Moores and Eatons, enjoyed digital art, music history and composing electronic music. Then a dream came true for Jeff when he began working for parks on the Juan De Fuca Life Saving Trail. He felt blessed every minute he spent on his beloved trail, beautifully photographing the flora and fauna, while making good friends, bears included.

Predeceased by his mother Betty, left to carry on his memory are his father Daniel, his loving wife Linda (nee Johnstone), treasured sons Cedar (Shannon) and Angus (Skye), brother Ron (Debbie), sisters Joan (Blaine) and Sandra (Greg), sisters in law Karen (Phil) and Marion (Bob), granddaughter Azlyn and many amazing nephews, nieces and cousins. Special thanks to all the people who were so wonderful in the care of Jeff and Linda including his sister Joan Hart, nephew Brandon Harbridge, friends Betty Collard, Mike and Diane McNally, Chris Chlopan, Jim Oke, Dr. J. Pocock, nurse Michele Atchison, and his Beacon Home care “ladies and gents”.

Jeff was a well loved, good man and he has left us immensely saddened by his early passing but he left joy in our hearts as a result of having been a part of his life. Rest in Peace dear one.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 2:00 pm in Holy Trinity Church on Murray Rd. in Sooke, with the Reverend A. Nagy officiating. Please come to share memories; tea to follow. Condolences may be offered below.

Oh my. For some reason, Jeff popped into my head the other day and I decided to see what I could find on line as I haven’t seen him since EMSS high school and we were best of buds. I am the other artist to the map of The Hobbit. We did that together and I kept it for so long that I felt it was time to let him have full ownership of our massive artistic grade 12 talent!!! Wink Wink. I heard Linda was a fan. I am so out of sorts to learn he has passed but my pain is clearly nowhere near what the family has been through and likely still is. My love to all…we’ve never met but you have a piece of me in that hobbit map. He was a very good friend, we had so many buckled over, fall on the floor laughs. Never will I ever forget red haired him. Best….Kathy.

Linda, Cedar, Angus…I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain such a loss inflicts but joy will come back in the most unexpected ways.

“Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.”

Dear, Linda and family I am so sorry for your loss. It has been a long difficult time for you all. My thoughts are with you. A strong bond between two loving people won’t be broken even by death.
Look back at the happy memories you two shared. With that, hopefully the sorrow will be washed away. Barb Swain
