Joan was born on October 10, 1947, in the Ottawa Civic Hospital and passed away on August 17, 2025, in the Saanich Peninsula Hospital (Victoria BC). Joan is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Raymond, her daughter, Cynthia Elizabeth Barton (husband Rob). Her two grandchildren Jamie Major (wife Samantha) and Zachary Barton, and her two sweet great grandchildren, Lucas and Matthew Finn Major. Attended by a small contingent of her closest friends, Joan was quietly interred at the Royal Oak Burial Park on August 20, 2025.
