On July 10, 2016 John passed away peacefully at Oak Bay Lodge. Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie, in November 2011. He is survived by his son Steve (Nancy), daughter Linda (Wayne), grandchildren Mandy (Kyle), Nick, Brittany and Lauren and great grandchildren James and Alex.
John was born on October 19, 1931 in Carlisle, England. He immigrated to Canada with Marjorie and Steve in 1958 and called Victoria home since 1977. John’s kindness touched everyone he met and will be missed by all who knew him.
Special thanks to Beacon Community Services and Staff on 1st Dogwood at Oak Bay Lodge for the wonderful care he received his last few months.
A celebration of John’s life will take place in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Society, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC, V8R 6V5.
