Jack was born in Victoria, B.C. on June 20, 1923 and died peacefully on April 19, 2014 after many years of suffering due to poor health. Jack attended Sir James Douglas School and Victoria High School. During World War II, Jack enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his discharge, he never lost his love of aeronautics. He designed and assembled many model air planes, some featured in model airplane magazines. Jack served an apprentice at Henry Birks and became a Gold Smith working at Birks and other companies in Victoria. Jack was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Keith; his sister, Barbara Jean and good friend, Don LoGiudice. He will be fondly remembered by his loving wife of 61 years, Marguerite (nee Zaferis); sisters in law Sylvia LoGiudice (good friend, Robert Phelan), Donna (Sonny) Vickery. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousin-in-laws. Many thanks to Nancy Harrison and Joe Sisson for their kindness and willingness to help and Jamna Maher for the support and care provided during his recent illness.
In keeping with Jack’s wishes a private service will be held at graveside, interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. Fly with the angels my love! In memory please donate to your favourite charity. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
