March 19, 1929 – June 8, 2013
Joe has left us to be with his loving wife, Gilda (deceased). Joe married the love of his life in Sao Miguel Azores and then came to Canada in 1955 to give his family a better life. He was proud to become a Canadian Citizen and have his family in Victoria. With love and pride, Joe leaves behind his daughters, Cinda (Joao), Nellie (Greg – deceased); his sons, Steve and Robin; grandchildren, Allan, April (Jeremy), Andrew, Ashley, Alex and Tyler; also sisters, Urania (Norbert) and Margaret; nephews, nieces; god-children; family and friends. Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Manuel and Joao. Thank you to Dr. Stockdill and all the wonderful second floor staff at Aberdeen Hospital.
Prayers will be offered at Our Lady of Fatima Parish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Parish at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013. Condolences may be offered to the family below.

Antonio Pedro Jose, what a wonderful man.
I have many memories of him when I was younger growing uphere in Victoria.
Both my Parents spoke very highly of Jose.

Dear Steve and Robin and the de Paiva family, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Your father certainly seemed larger than life, with a quick smile and laugh.
Words can never fill the hole left by the loss of such an important person in your life; yet still I hope you find comfort knowing he is in good company where he is, and for sure he is smiling.
