June passed 9 months short of her 100th Birthday!
Predeceased by husband Capt. Jack Kirkham and her 3 sisters Marguerite, Betty & Nadine.
June was truly a British Columbia Pioneer, born, raised and lived her whole life in BC, she was a 10th generation Canadian. Her ancestors arrived from Saint-Malo France in 1664, predating the confederation of Canada.
She was a long-time member of Uplands Golf Club where she loved to play golf and bridge. She was always giving back to her community, supporting many charities, PEO, and Glenlyon Preparatory School.
She loved traveling, exploring other parts of the world and experiencing different cultures.
A bold and adventurous spirit right to the end, including jumping on an airplane by herself at age 96 to visit her son Gregg and family in Sidney, Australia.
For the last 11 year she resided at Carlton House on Oak Bay Ave, where she met new friends, enjoyed tending to her garden and was an avid bridge player.
She will be missed by her 5 children: Jeannine (Gary), Leslie, Rob (Donna), Richard (Laura), Gregg (Tanya): Daughter-in-law Jacquie (Floyd): 7 grandchildren, Kyle (Yolanda), Kelly (Gary) and James (Alex); Graham, Gillian (Ryan) and Leland; Lachlan and 7 Great Grandchildren: Eliana and Hannah; Gabrielle and Ainsley; Jack; Josephine and Gavin. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews and many good friends!
