Ken passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, August 26/07 with his family at his side. Born in Victoria on March 13,1926 he was a proud lifelong resident. Ken lived his whole life guided by a strong sense of duty, commitment to community service, devotion to his loving family, and great sense of humour. He touched many lives during his 33 years as an educator, and his 16 years as a civil marriage commissioner.

Ken enjoyed his involvement in many community activities including:

President of the Victoria Amateur Swim Club and coach of the YMCA swim club, President of Oak Bay Band Parents Association, Chair of Oak Bay Recreation Commission, Member of the Gizeh Thunderbirds Scooter Unit and his much- loved Victoria Silver Streaks Masters Swim Club.

Ken’s unique organizational skills saw him involved with the swimming events of the 1994 Commonwealth Games, school events and reunions, sporting events, and other activities too numerous to mention.

Ken was predeceased by his parents and brother, David. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan, son Bruce (Chris), daughters Megan and Glynis (David), and daughter-in-law Gillian (Yan). Best “Gramps” ever to Michael and Graeme Fullerton, Garreth (Morgan) and Andrew Hurn, and Kirby, Bryan, and David (Jr.) Ramsay. “Uncle Ken” to Lyle, Tamah, Lisa, Jodi, and Heather and their children.
