April 9, 1932 – May 2, 2010

IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS we announce the passing of Kevin Joseph Geary. Kevin was born and raised in Limerick, Ireland. While growing up Kevin was surrounded by a large Irish family, 11 brothers and sisters. Kevin was always an intelligent person with a thirst for knowledge. Kevin left his hometown of Limerick for the big city of Dublin, it was there he graduated with a degree in Architecture from The College of Technology, Bolton Street, Dublin (1960). Immediately following his graduation he married the apple of his eye, Dorothy Mary Franklin, also of Limerick, Ireland and the two immigrated to Canada. Kevin’s career in Architecture took him and his family across Canada – Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg and finally settling in Victoria BC in 1979. It was then he took on the position of Project Manager for the construction of The Victoria General Hospital. Upon completion of that project Kevin worked for the Hospital Programs until he retired. Kevin’s passion was golf, in his spare time he loved to hit the links with his friends as a member of The Royal Colwood Golf Club. Kevin was a passionate, loving and protective father, husband, brother and a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Kevin is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 50 years, son Robert Geary, daughters Orla Geary and Hilda Olberg (Brad), grandchild Maximillian Olberg, brothers Eoin Geary (Lauri), Don Geary, Paul Geary, sister Blossom Geary and many nieces and nephews.
