Born November 13, 1924 in Cornwall, Ontario died September 21, 2007 in Victoria, B.C. With heartfelt sorrow we the children of Lawrence (Larry) Kennedy announce his sudden passing. He is now at peace with his beloved wife, Muriel. Dad was a long time employee of the C.P.R. Steamship Line from 1946-1966. He was a crew member on many of the Princess Ships over his years with the C.P.R. with ports of call from as far north as Alaska and as far south as Acapulco, Mexico and all ports on the West Coast of B.C. and the Island. It was on the S.S. Maquinna that he met his future bride, Muriel Walton. In 1966, he joined the fledgling B.C. Ferry Fleet, being on the inaugural run of the M.V. Queen of Prince Rupert. He worked the waters between Vancouver Island and Prince Rupert for 20 years retiring off the late M.V. Queen of the North in 1987. Lawrence (Larry) was predeceased by his Father and Mother, John and Sarah (Cardinal) Kennedy, his brothers John (WWII) and Roy (infant), his sister Margaret Hargrove (2004) and his beloved wife, Muriel (1921-1991). He is survived by his siblings: Rose St. Denis, Fred Kennedy, Beatrice (Ovielda) Fortier and Hubert (Gisele) Kennedy in Cornwall, Ontario, Julia Bridges in Nepean, Ontario and Florence Belile in Messena, New York and many cousins and nieces and nephews. Lawrence (Larry) is also survived by his children Joan Kennedy Linge, Lynn (Ken Pasula) in Victoria, B.C., Warren (Elaine) Kennedy and Norman Kennedy in Courtenay, B.C., and his grandchildren Bryan Linge and Daniel and Katie Pasula of Victoria, B.C., Chantel Kennedy (Mike Fischer) of Black Creek, B.C., Ryan and Amber Kennedy of Courtenay, B.C.

Family and friends may pay their respects at McCall Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
