Passed away peacefully at Oak Bay Lodge on the 29 October 2010. Leslie was born in Sidney, B.C. on 21 August 1926. Loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents; John (Jack) and Helena (Lena) (nee Cook); Burdett sisters, Doreen Stainsby, Audrey Hay and Molly Eckert and his beloved wife, Norma Jean Burdett (nee MacAskill). He is survived by his children Bill (Sharron), David (Patsy), Linda (Matt), Nancy (Tim), Charles (Heather) and 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren. Leslie is also survived by his sisters Verna Marshall and Cora Deighton plus many nieces and nephews. Les enjoyed family, friends, gardening, fishing and hunting. He served in the Navy during the Second World War and is a member of the Esquimalt Legion. Special thanks to the Staff at Oak Bay Lodge and Dr. Michael Vaughan.
A Celebration of Les’s Life will be held in MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, Johnson & Vancouver Streets at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory would be appreciated to B.C. Cancer Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.
