Nov. 8 1927 – Oct. 28 2011
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Lilian at Victoria Hospice. Born in Morpeth, Northumberland,U.K., she grew up loving sports and the outdoors. As a member of the Naval Reserve, she came to Canada in 1954 and made Prince Rupert home before settling in Oak Bay for her last 48 years. A love of art, dance and tennis kept her buoyant. Her dear friends met at Oak Bay and Henderson Tennis clubs weekly-for more then three decades; enduring her acumen and drive for the game. She loved dogs and would stop to greet them mid walk. Lilian is predeceased by her husband, Robert, of 37 years; sister to Jeanne and Thomas; mother of Ronald and loving grandmother of Kaleigh, Georgia and Ava. Lilian was gentle, warm and conversant-while being an excellent listener. She embraced life with jubilance while maintaining great privacy, grace and dignity. She whole-heartedly believed in goodness and would raise crossed fingers as a gesture of passing on luck to others. Her youthful disposition welcomed all whom she met. Her afternoon “noggin” was a ritual of reflection for all about her..she will be deeply missed. Special thanks to Dr Kier Macmillan, and all at the Victoria Quick Response Unit.
A Celebration of her Life will be held in MCCALL BROS. FAMILY CENTRE, Johnson & Vancouver Streets, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

PDElder I knew Lilian for many years – she was always an interesting woman to talk to. I recall her being always cheerful with an ability to instantly bring a smile to my face. I will miss the phone conversations I very much enjoyed over the years. Rest in peace, Lilian – you will always be missed.
I hope the end was quick and pain free.
She will be missed
